Lab Technician

Job Title: Lab TechnicianLocation: Rocky Hill, CTHours/Schedule: M-F, 8 am – 5 PMType: Contract 9 months.Pay: $20-30/hour (depending upon experience) Overview: We are looking for someone who would enjoy working with robotics and specialty formulations of high-end adhesives. You would be working for us, Joule/SystemOne! Our assignment for you would include chemistry formulations and physical testing for a major player in the adhesives and consumer goods industry. We need someone who is available for approximately 6 months. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with a top team and expand your knowledge of applications chemistry and physical testing. Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:

Prepare adhesive formulations from chemical ingredients.

Test performance characteristics of adhesive formulations using established procedures.

Evaluate, collect, and record data according to company standards.

Use a computer to enter data/information including charts and tables for communication of project results/details.

Ensure the compliance of lab safety and housekeeping

Requirements:

Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data.

Comfortable and able to work with hazardous chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols. – Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
