Maintenance Electrician

Apply Automation skills along with related knowledge in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics to install, program, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and modify automated electrical components, circuitry, control systems and machinery.Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions using knowledge of programmable controllers, circuit analysis, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics; work with manufacturers or field representatives to procure replacement parts.  Maintain inventory and related documentation.Perform high-level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation and modification of integrated systems, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation.Perform diagnostic checks on automated equipment; isolate problems including, sensors, controllers, encoders, servomotors, and/or servo valves, preferred.Maintain automated systems, including peripheral equipment; maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.Design, program and troubleshoot PLC, Industrial Control systems and relay control circuits to include panel layouts, wiring diagrams and interfaces and integration into work cells with regard to poke-yoke/mistake proofing.  Perform testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of same, preferred.Provide support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.  Prepare in-house training documents, reports, flow diagrams, charts, specifications and standard operating instructions for processes and equipment.Install and/or troubleshoot AC and DC systems up to 480 volts.Follow all procedures as outlined in the Highland Quality System.Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures of ITW Highland.
