Medical Charge Entry Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Charge Entry Specialist in Hartford, Connecticut. As a key player in the healthcare industry, your role will involve data entry, customer service, handling patient insurance, and managing charge backs in our EMR system. Responsibilities: Responsible for accurately entering patient charges into the EMR system Handle charge postings and ensure all data is up-to-date and accurate Provide top-notch customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly Manage patient insurance details, including co-insurance matters Handle charge backs efficiently to ensure smooth financial operations Familiarity with commercial insurance procedures and policies is essential Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare privacy regulations Collaborate with the medical billing team to ensure all charges are correctly billed to patients and insurance companies. Requirements Proficiency in Charge Entry and Charge Posting. Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is required. Strong understanding of Medical Billing procedures. Familiarity with Commercial Insurance and Co-Insurance. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative. Proficiency in using computers and relevant software applications. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous. Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures or job duties.
