Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Network Specialist for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Research & Advisory clients in Stamford, CT (remote to start but must return to office when safe to do so) . Responsibilities :
- The selected individual must be fast learner, self-motivated, disciplined, organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Possess strong communication, customer service and organisational skills and the ability to effectively communicate in a multi-team environment.
- Candidate will work in a team environment in the support of a complex network design, consisting of various vendor technologies. Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute and follow leadership directives at appropriate times.
- Applicant should possess Client-facing experience, able to interact directly with C-level Clients in person and able to understand the Client's needs to solve Network or IT related issues and difficulties quickly and tactfully.
- Extensive Travel Required 60%
- Candidate able to work extended hours and weekends
- Responsible for following established Conferences Networking standards and best practice procedures onsite at scheduled Conferences
- Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills when working with Venue IT staff and partners.
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation of network design, operation and procedures.
- Experience in network operating systems, topologies, hardware, routing, switching, and security.
- Ability to deploy, manage and support Cisco Networks
- Knowledge of network, desktop, and server technology concepts, maintenance, and procedures.
- Onsite Support for Gartner Conferences globally
- Setup, support and implementation of IP network solutions.
- Basic configuration and support of EIGRP, OSPF, IPSec VPN, Spanning Tree as well as the ability to implement tools for monitoring and troubleshooting the previous services.
- Basic support of DHCP, WINS, remote access systems.
- Identify, isolate and resolve network problems quickly to mitigate business impact.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and to manage priorities; strong organisational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Solid experience with Internet services and routing as well as experience working with ISPs an asset.
- Solid understanding and experience with enterprise level wireless networks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must have
- In depth knowledge of Desktop and Server OS including file and print services
- Thorough knowledge of how to troubleshoot network issues using various network analysis tools (i.e. Fluke, Airmagnet, Ekahau, SolarWinds, WireShark etc)
- Ability to create and read Network Diagrams for the planning of a Network deployment
- DHCP & DNS setup and maintenance
- General Knowledge pertaining to the configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of: Cisco Wireless Controllers, Wireless Access Points, Routers and Switches.
- Ability to support clients with Wireless setup and troubleshooting on various operating systems
- Capable of setup and support of basic network monitoring tools (i.e. Solarwinds, Extrahop, Splunk, etc.)
- Ability to use good judgment, and problem-solving skills for Client support
- Wireless fine-tuning experience is a plus
- External vendor support experience a plus
