Performs inspection, testing and approval for received crudes to ensure compliance to specifications.

Is the Canaan site ISO 9001 “Management Representative”.

Develops and issues internal audit schedule.

Schedules annual Management review.

Conducts quality training when applicable (new internal auditors).

Contacts ISO registrar to schedule external audit (Surveillance or recertification audit)

Post and distributes ISO certificate as needed.

Ensures 5S audits are performed biweekly for all lab areas.

Standard work is in place for critical lab work processes.

Data entry, analysis and reporting in QA database is current.

Reports all nonconforming product to Production to ensure compliance.

Generates Certificates of Analysis and interfaces with Customers as needed.

Updates test procedures, equipment, specifications and facilities as needed to maintain good lab practices.

Calibrates testing equipment

Performs product concern investigations with external (SMS, customers) and internal (MFG, Logistics) customers where applicable.

Releases finished goods production after data review.

Coordinates supplier corrective action.

Performs chemical analysis using various equipment and methods.

Conduct and supervise the training of personnel within the quality assurance group. Training records are also maintained.

Is current with all required Operational Excellence training and practices these tools routinely.

Coordinates raw material specification requirements and investigates supplier non-conformance.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Acts as computer server back up.

Performs computer system related tasks. (EtQ, Oracle, Word, Excel, PPT)

Coordinates materials testing by vendors.

Maintains lab supplies and equipment.

Assists the plant with in – process SPC analysis.

Completes other assignments as needed

Works alone and as part of a team working in close proximity to others, and may work in close proximity with equipment. At times, employee may be exposed to high places. Specific conditions will vary based upon the work assignment/task being performed.Safety Equipment: Safety equipment typically required while performing the duties of this job include a personal red lockout/tagout lock, ANSI approved hardhat and safety glasses with sideshields, safety shoes/boots with steel toe protection and metatarsal guards, as well as company provided flame retardant uniforms (shirt/pants). Additional safety equipment required includes hearing protection while assigned to certain production areas. Additional safety equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or if it is simply desired by the employee.Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual, which consists of eight hours of classroom training and 16 hours of on the job training. It will include, but is not limited to, the following: forklift/mobile equipment operation and certification/licensing, hazard communication, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, electrical safety, lock out/tag out, personal protective equipment, bloodborne pathogens, fire fighting/extinguishers, machine safety, confined spaces, reporting of hazardous conditions, accidents, injuries, near-miss and property damage incidents, evacuation/emergency procedures, first aid, back injury prevention, and job/work area procedures. Upon transferring to perform the duties of this position for the first time an employee is to be provided New Task Training by a qualified individual until the employee adequately understands the contents of the training, which include job/work area procedures and related topics.
