PROJECT/SYSTEM OVERVIEWThe Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) provides an integrated solution for thesharing of criminal justice information (CJI) within the Connecticut criminal justice agencies,in full compliance with the current versions of both the state and federal CJIS SecurityPolicies. Governor Lamont has stated that the CJIS Governing Board’s projects were amonghis highest priorities. In order to show progress and visibility, the CJIS team needs anApplication Tester.3. SCOPE OF WORKThe Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Application Tester is responsible for systemtesting, User Acceptance Testing, and requirements validation of the Connecticut InformationSharing System (CISS), and any other system managed by CJIS. The CJIS Application Tester isalso responsible for understanding all of the areas of the system and providing institutionalknowledge of its design and operation.Specific Services RequiredCreating test use cases, doing the testing, creating the testing results reports, andimplementing the testing needed by the project managersProviding documented processes to the testing team in the implementation ofthe required testingSupporting the resolution of defects found during testing and providing generaltesting process consultation to the project teamWorking on testing activities for new releases for the CJIS team and CJISstakeholders.Developing presentations for stakeholders, officials, and other interested partieswhen requested by the ManagementReporting test results, documenting reported defects to test lead. Entering thedefects in defect management toolAbility to validate Traceability Matrix to contractual requirementsQuality Assurance Analyst – Level 2Required Skills/ExperienceThe candidate must have the following skills or experience:Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, exposure to programming in a3rd generation languages and knowledge of software design patterns5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projectsExperience in NIEM XML or other complex XML StandardExperience in testing web services manually using Soap UI/PostmanWorking knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plusAn ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and to traceproblems to their sourceExperience with SOA technologiesExperience in scripting complex SQ queries (Microsoft SQL server)Proficient in MS ExcelWork cooperatively with other Team Members including Team Leader/Manager,Developers, Testers, Designers and others4.
