Location: Shelton, CT (2 days on-site/week)

Duration: contract/contract to hire

Rate: open/negotiable

Notes: Open to various seniority levels, but ideally looking for 5-7 years of IT experience or at least 3-5 years of security engineer experience. Should have experience w the following:
  • Firewall/ end-point protection
  • Identity management/ access control
  • Vulnerability management

Job Description This IT Security Engineer will play a critical role in implementing security solutions. The IT Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and remediating cyber tooling and services. The security role is intended to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of BIC's IT systems, data, and assets.

What You'll Do:
  • Work collaboratively with 3rd party security service providers to detect and respond to cyber threats
  • Maintain and configure firewall and antivirus changes
  • Documentation of security policies and procedures
  • Protect unauthorized use and access to corporate and personal data; help enforce adherence to compliance standards (GDPR, PII, PCI)
  • Participate in incident response to contain, investigate, remediate, and prevent cybersecurity incidents
  • Remediation of critical and high vulnerabilities discovered during pen testing or scans
  • Participate in research and evaluation of industry leading enterprise security tools
  • Automation of security related tasks using scripting tools such as Python or Power Shell

Projects You'll Work On:
  • Documentation of global IT security policy and procedures
  • Understand and participate in EDR (endpoint detection and response)
  • Participation in the rollout and adoption of multi-factor authentication for O365 and other applications
  • Implementation and configuration of a SIEM tool
  • Participation in our North American ISO 27001 certification including remediation measures
  • Firewall configuration and maintenance
  • Vulnerability scanning and endpoint patch management
  • Pen testing remediation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, information security or engineering
  • CISSP or CISM certification considered a plus
  • Experience with current cyber threat landscape, attack methodologies, risk mitigations and remediation methods
  • Experience of security frameworks such as NIST a plus
  • Available for occasional international travel
  • Team and collaboration orientation
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills
