Candidates must be located within a 50-mile radius from your assigned office location (AZ, MN, MA, GA, and CT) Position Summary: The Enterprise Data Science Organization is a multi-disciplinary team of data experts that work together to convert vast amounts of business and customer data into actionable insights, improved business decisions and positive customer interactions. Analytics are used to build, retain and strengthen our relationship with individual clients, plan sponsors and distribution partners, and to improve our business processes across the enterprise. This role is responsible for delivering innovative customer-focused data science capabilities to support Voya's Health and Wealth businesses in engaging our customers through personalized experiences. The ideal candidate is skilled at understanding business needs and selecting and applying appropriate analytics techniques to large data sets to deliver insights, discover patterns and build models for a variety of business use cases. Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen are required to work with stakeholders and team members across functional and business domains. Position Description:- Expand the impact of data science throughout the firm by actively building awareness of analytics at Voya and partnering with the business to define high-value initiatives
- Lead the design, development, delivery and support of new data science capabilities
- Deliver actionable insights and solutions to highly complex business problems by applying advanced analytics and partnering to build predictive models that are accurate and reflect business reality using a combination of structured and unstructured data sources
- Understand business needs to ensure analyses are meaningful and aligned to business objectives
- Identify, research and resolve data anomalies to ensure data quality
- Evaluate processes and initiatives to measure impact and make appropriate recommendations based on results
- Share effective communications and presentations to business stakeholders and technical audiences about technical findings and key business results, utilizing data visualizations to convey complex concepts
- Provide coaching and guidance to other team members while utilizing effective project planning techniques to ensure on-time delivery
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a quantitative or business field and/or a minimum of 4 years of experience in financial services and/or analytics
- One or more specialized skillsets that could be leveraged within analytics (ex. Statistics, Actuarial, Predictive Modeling, data retrieval/manipulation)
- A proven track record of using analytics to deliver actionable insights and quantify benefits
- Experience with lead generation
- Previous project oversight with experience coaching and/or mentoring on-shore and off-shore talent
- Expert in core data analytics tools and technologies including:
- Data access and manipulation (e.g., SQL, Python scripting)
- Cloud-based platforms: (e.g., Azure, Snowflake)
- Data visualization: PowerPoint, Tableau (preferred) and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively conveying information in a business-friendly manner and coordinating across teams
- "Number Sense" - an ability to work with data, ensure it makes sense, and is accurate and appropriate to the work at hand
- Solid business acumen with the ability to quickly learn about Voya's core businesses
- Prior work experience in financial services preferred (specifically Retirement or Employee Benefits)
