Senior IT Quality Engineer, Test Automation

• Develop, define, and implement testing strategies and processes.
• Engage in maturing best practices by providing coaching, mentoring, and contributing to internal tools, frameworks and processes.
• Exhibit technical expertise by solving complex challenges and supporting other engineers.
• Peer-review and approve artifacts produced by QA resources, participate in code reviews and ensure that final work products meet all quality standards.
• Create and maintain various types of automated tests including functional, API and data tests using commercial and open source tools.
• Demonstrate an awareness of evolving best practices by presenting and leading the adoption of new ideas.
• Manage testing efforts by providing oversight to projects and schedules, managing priorities, solving challenges and providing regular updates.
• Engage in maturing testing frameworks and tools by creating and making recommendations that further advance quality engineering capabilities and efficiencies.
• Cultivate relationships with business partners and leadership, articulating current capabilities and identifying opportunities to better serve our customers.
• Properly maintain automated test suites and ensure they remain current with the speed of application development.
• Accurately estimate QA efforts through the application development lifecycle including test design, scripting, data and defect correction.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to quality engineers by solving challenges and assisting engineers in implementing solutions to complex problems.
• Present ideas and feedback on test tools and automation frameworks and opportunities to drive continuous improvement across quality engineering.
• Ability to code automated tests, analyze results and formulate action plans.
• Coordinate with functional testing and test data management teams to ensure that business processes are thoroughly validated and ready for automation.
• Maintain and enforce Quality Assurance & Engineering standards and best practices across cross-functional delivery teams
• Provide oversight to cross-functional teams in their use of automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify, isolate and track test issues throughout the software development life cycle

• 8+ years of testing and Quality Assurance experience including writing detailed test cases, test plans and strategies.
• Minimum 4+ years hands-on test scripting experience with automated test frameworks.
• 4+ years of experience with automated testing tools and utilities such as: Selenium, UFT, Tosca, Appium, Saucelabs, etc.
• 2+ years of experience with DevOps tools and methodologies including CI/CD.
• 1+ year of experience with database querying methods such as SQL.
• 2+ years' experience working with Agile project delivery processes.
• Demonstrated history of maturing quality engineering practices and implementing tools and technologies.
• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycles (i.e., Waterfall, Agile, Test Driven Development, Extreme Programming etc.)
• Ability to communicate, influence and persuade - both business and IT leaders as well as peers.
• Financial Services industry experience a plus
