Job Title: Senior Policy Engineer, Scanning and DLP Location: any remote US, must be willing to work CST or EST hours Duration: 12 months w/ possible extensions thereafter Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: The Senior Policy Engineer for Scanning and DLP will be responsible for directing, implementing, and improving our scanning and DLP policies in support'of our Data Protection and Insider Risk Management functions, applying DLP knowledge and experience to a challenging environment and joining a team of dedicated and highly supportive individuals in a senior engineer role. This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities: Define new and enhance existing DLP policies/rules to continuously increase DLP Program coverage via multiple detection technologies in accordance with established process Develop a scanning program across multiple technologies to identify sensitive data at rest across our environment and determine the protections in place or missing Support the Cyber DLP team in further expanding upon the established DLP Program by defining additional processes / controls for continuous risk reduction purposes and to meet the objectives detailed in the DLP Program Charter Tune DLP and Scanning policies on a continuous basis to maintain a mature set of policies within the scope of the DLP Program Lead and mentor junior DLP and Scanning resources Partner with required stakeholders to remediate DLP design, process, and technology gaps Partner with Cyber Security Operations teams as needed to enhance DLP monitoring / response on an ongoing basis Provide support in defining and building upon metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the Program, and support reporting needs across the organization Build, develop, and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and vendors to formulate DLP solutions for Freddie Mac Maintaining an effective end-to-end process from ingesting requests from across the organization to ensuring detections get routed to the Cyber Security monitoring/response processes Defining, documenting, and executing internal processes and controls to support the DLP Program Address risks and open issues that apply to our process as well as audit activities Actively contribute to providing solutions and be open and flexible to change View obstacles and gaps as an exciting challenge, focus on providing detailed solutions to solve problems Build relationships inside and outside of Cyber Security Stay current on technology that impacts the industry Qualifications/Requirements: 5+ years of DLP policy definition and analysis experience and/or Scanning policy definition and analysis in on prem and cloud technologies Expertise in Symantec DLP Deep knowledge of regex 3+ years of experience in the Cyber Security/Information Technology industry Ability to communicate effectively, persuasively, and credibly with internal management and partners / stakeholders Experience working with Splunk Ability to adapt, work in and thrive in a frequently changing environment Excellent teaming skills Certifications relevant to the Cyber Security industry 3+ years of experience with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks (e.g., IS027000, COBIT, NIST 800, etc.) Desired Characteristics: Ability to adapt, work in and thrive in a frequently changing environment Excellent teaming skills Certifications relevant to the Cyber Security industry Excellent collaborator and fantastic teammate Ability to lead and mentor Multi-task, prioritize, and sometimes expect the unexpected.
