The ITM&S Senior Principal Software Engineer - Solutions Architect partners with the business client community (Medical Information team) to analyze, recommend and provide technology solutions. As a cross-functional expert, collaborate with IT, business clients, and/or solution providers to improve productivity and enhance processes in support of the client's business goals. Responsibilities will be technical leadership, systems architecture, software design/development, project management, and include baseline support. Duties & Responsibilities\:- Consulting and Analysis \: Perform baseline activities utilizing implemented systems supporting IT processes. Perform administrative and maintenance tasks for assigned applications. Troubleshoot application, system & integration problems to determine the cause of problems and route issues to the appropriate resource.
- Client Support \: Develop and provide users with training and assistance for assigned processes. Performs or advises IT colleagues with administrative and maintenance tasks for assigned applications. Perform baseline system support, administrative and maintenance duties for assigned systems. Troubleshoot application and system problems that have been escalated.
- Project/Solution Activities\: Support goals by participating on or leading project teams. Deliver on assigned tasks and action items.
- Technical / Software Development Focus \: Serve as an expert on existing applications/systems and underlying architecture. Employ comprehensive knowledge to influence technology decisions. Identify IT or Pharma industry processes or technologies that could provide BI with a competitive advantage.
- Documentation\: Determine documentation requirements and produce documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, MIS or related field with a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience; or Bachelor 's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, or MIS, or related field with minimum nine (9) years of experience; or Master's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with minimum seven (7) years of experience; or relevant Business or IT experience of minimum of eleven (11) years.
- Minimum of six (6) years of programming experience preferred.
- Strong foundation in software development life cycle methodology.
- A demonstrated ability to combine knowledge and experience in the relevant area with strong information technology and automation skills preferred to implement effective IT technical solutions in the MI environment.
- Strong understanding and experience with system architecture design including knowledge of software languages, tools, and platforms. High level of competence in software and system development/technology strongly preferred.
- Proven analytical skills to understand related IT standards and technology trends, climate, and challenges strongly preferred.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and recommend software systems and technologies preferred that will positively impact Medical Affairs - Medical Information domain.
- Knowledge of GxP and computer validation methodology preferred. Familiarity with pharmaceutical compliance environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience with project management required. Certification in SCRUM or other Agile framework preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to convey IT related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff strongly preferred. Fluent in English including written and oral presentation skills preferred.
- Ability to collaborate and work successfully with teams across the organization strongly preferred.
- Work experience in global, multicultural, and virtual teams preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
