Overview:Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of all branch policies and procedures for the Retail network, ensuring compliance with new and existing regulatory guidance. Manage the planning, development and implementation of various projects and initiatives in support of the department or division.Position Responsibilities :

Ensure policies and procedures for Retail Branch network and department are properly documented including creating new and making routine updates. Maintain a current well-documented library of all branch policies and procedures.

Analyze updates to Enterprise policies and procedures impacting Retail Banking; Ensure division policy & procedures are consistent with corporate standards.

Participate in strategic planning and represent Retail Operations and Risk on new projects and initiatives to achieve business outcomes. Identify and evaluate impacts and process changes to Retail branch network and back office from a policy, procedure and training aspect; Ensure that all key risks are identified.

May be responsible on an individual basis to support r complex, critical and highly visible projects at the division level. .

Responsible for monitoring and responding to stakeholder feedback. Provide guidance and direction on branch policy and procedure questions. Research and investigate customer issues, Legal and Compliance inquiries, etc. Provide feedback to management regarding results and make recommendations on findings.

Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations. Stay current on business and market trends which may affect Retail.

Identify new processes and procedures to make daily branch operations more efficient. Participate in implementation of department policy changes and identify impacts to documentation. Consult and communicate with Retail Banking management and business partners as needed.

Review new or enhanced channels, products or services to understand, assess and mitigate risk to acceptable levels

Collaborate with Retail and business partner management to identify and assess risk in the branch network to determine/enhance procedures or controls. Partner with Legal, Compliance and back office areas to support department and/or division.

Develop branch communications Communicate with all levels of management within division and across business lines.

Work with management to limit reputational and customer relationship risk while balancing the need for key decision-making to mitigate or eliminate risk; Ensure balance is maintained between control monitoring and good business judgment

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Nature and ScopeThis position is responsible for all branch policies, procedures, risk and operational oversight to ensure branch awareness and understanding. The position requires interaction with all levels of management in division and within other business lines and partners.
