Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.

Position Summary:

Lead design, development, migration and implementation of several complex web based java applications in/to Azure cloud environment using Java/J2EE development within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Position Description:
  • Support Architecture team in defining the technology roadmaps for the applications
  • Understand the business needs and convert them into Technology and cloud architecture fit by leveraging architecture approved tools and solutions
  • Have proven experience with Cloud technologies, using Java as native development language. Experience working with Kubernetes and other container technologies to lead the team towards the right decision.
  • Estimate the amount of work related to completion of the given work, with 95% accuracy, having minimal input on the actual work
  • Proven experience with planning out the development schedules and defining the technical project milestones working with project management and delivery manager.
  • Proven Experience in articulating the project deliverables with technical details, understand the architectural guidelines, present the architectural details to large board of members and others.
  • Understand and be able to develop applications using the following environment/languages

Knowledge & Experience:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent plus 10+ years hand on experience building software applications using Java/J2EE technology in a web based application environment.
  • Proven knowledge across a broad spectrum of Web technologies (HTML, CSS, Ajax/JavaScript, JSP, Java and web services).
  • Knowledge in jBoss Application Server.
  • 7+ experience in building Micro Services / APIs to be exposed internally and externally with highest performance levels.
  • Certified Solution Architect for Azure from Microsoft and other certifications in Azure technologies.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under little supervision across a diverse geographic area.
  • Understanding of SQL for DB2/UDB database and Oracle 10G/11G databases and SQL Server.
  • Understanding of MVC applied to OO principles, patterns, relational databases.
  • Proven experience in developing new and/or migrating existing applications to the new Azure cloud environments.
  • Ability to take business requirements and define functional and design specifications, and create prototypes.
  • Ability to communicate with third party vendors learn how systems work, document, and explain to other team members.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill and strong command of the English language.

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $99,710 to $137,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to the base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities based on each role to reward achievement of annual performance objectives.
