OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Sr. Full Stack Developer for a new program award. This position will be full-time and fully remote.ResponsibilitiesModernize a current VA software and expand to include a mobile application using currently implemented software and all its front and back-end components in a technology stack comprised of React, React.js, AWS CodePipeline, Playwright, Node.JS, Python, Angular, MS SQL, Dynatrace, and RDS Native. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language.
Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues.
Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams in requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and breakdown of user stories and tasks.
Interaction with stakeholders and SMEs in support of the Product Owner.
Use unit and integration testing to ensure systems meet business needs.
Develop and deliver software that impacts the lives of millions of American Veterans and their families.
Interface with internal and Government management personnel.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, and related fields. On a special case-by-case basis, five years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for otherwise highly qualified candidates.
Experience in an agile environment like Scrum or SAFe.
1-3 years of direct 508 experience.
At least five years of direct, continuous work experience in React.js.
At least five years of direct experience with Relational databases and SQL.
Experience using Non-Relational and Relational databases like MySQL, SQL server, Oracle.
Four or more years of programming experience using open-source web platforms in languages such as JavaScript, Python.
Understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON.
Must be able to design, discuss, and document system strategies for platform, applications, and networks.
Experience designing RESTful APIs for consumption by front-end developers.
Experience integrating with external REST web services.
Experience integrating with external SOAP web services.
Experience working with frequently updated open-source libraries.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design and SOLID design principles.
Proficient with Git, GitHub, and Markdown text.
Proficient spelling, grammar, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Cloud Formation EC2, S3, ELB, VPC, and networking in AWS
Lambda, API Gateway, Serverless Framework
Experience with Docker, ECS
Experience with CI/CD implementation
Experience with AWS EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda functions.
Experience using JSON:API and JSON Schema standards.
Experience supporting public-facing web applications with a large userbase.
Experience with Reporting tools like Tableau, PowerBIx
Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies
Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment
