Receives daily tasking assignments, under moderate supervision, from higher level technical personnel having responsibility for coordinating the tasks of a group. Accountable to supervisor for performance and management for scientific elements of a project. Conducts routine and moderately complex technical procedures on preclinical toxicity studies

Records basic technical information according to Good Laboratory Practices and communicates findings in a timely manner

Writes study documentation and responds to quality assurance audit findings pertaining to primary study records; Maintains and reviews study-related documents for accuracy, creates forms and completes study notebooks in a timely manner with guidance from higher level technical personnel and under the direct supervision

Functional knowledge and ability, with appropriate training, to operate standard laboratory equipment (e.g. balances); Actively and independently monitors and advances training progress and schedules training sessions with higher level personnel

Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies

Functions as a team member and displays the behaviors and attributes required to complete inter-dependent tasks within a highly dynamic work environment where success depends on coordination, cooperation and personal leadership among members

Requirements:Associate’s Degree in biological science or equivalent and/or 0 - 2 years experience in an animal health/veterinary practice environment or current laboratory

Certification (e.g. A.S.C.P., A.A.L.A.S. or equivalent) is highly desirable

Strict attention to detail and follow-up skills is essential; Excellent verbal and written communications skills are highly desirable; Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to perform in a team environment and demonstrate personal leadership and behaviors supportive of team interactions

No known allergies to animals.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in a standing position for extended durations (approx. 2 hours) with periodic breaks.

Must be able to wear respiratory protection devices

Must be able to access laboratory equipment on bench tops or equivalent while using both hands to perform manual dexterity operations
