AECOM is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to support our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice based in Rocky Hill, CT.The selected mid-level engineer will have a primary focus on water/wastewater/water resources utility planning, design, and condition assessment, and for state, municipal, and private clients. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including site investigations, field measurements, utility investigations, capacity studies, condition assessments, conceptual through final design, cost estimating, and construction administration/observation. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers, project manager, clients, regulatory agencies, and industry-leading subject matter experts, and attendance at professional conferences.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.Work under supervision of a project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members.Utilize basic engineering principles, judgement, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.Perform work with increasing responsibility.Propose approaches to solve new problems.Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.Providing construction support for review of shop drawings, request for information and site visits to the constructionPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
