Your team

You'd be a part of the BlackRock Data Services organization, is entrusted with the management of security, market, and credit data that is integral to the investment decision process for BlackRock and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) business.

Analyst and Associates roles are available within the team's practice areas, including Data Integrity, Quality Control, Production Monitoring, Delivery, & Oversight & Governance, User Support, Interfaces & Data Configuration, and Pricing Operations.

DIG (Data integrity) primary task is maintaining Security Data for the Aladdin Trading platform. Security data, meaning, the core setup of Bonds, Equity, Loans and derivatives like Cross Currency Swaps and options. Our Team "Green-Lights" data before it can be traded into and troubleshoots data discrepancy users may see.

The Interface & Data Configuration team's mission is to ensures all data services activities are guided exclusively by our clients' needs and provides oversight for all new and existing data and client integration/implementations activities across the group. We are responsible to evaluate, onboard, QC and enhance the data for BlackRock Solutions' clients including Aladdin, OCIO, Risk Solution, IAG and ARWM businesses.

User Support Team helps our clients and portfolio managers better understand their portfolio exposures, strategy, and risk & returns.

The Pricing Operations team is responsible for the collection and validation of market prices for all assets and liabilities held in managed portfolios, we well as for the distribution of those prices to accounting agents and custodians, where appropriate.

Quality Control ensures BlackRock and the BlackRock Solutions client's base have the highest quality of security and portfolio level analytics and focus on building scale and efficiency by integrating data science to design and implement a centralized quality control platform for key risk analytics metrics.

Your responsibilities
  • Model new holdings for terms and conditions as well as time series data in the Aladdin Investment System for BlackRock and BRS Clients.
  • Resolve Security and Issuer modeling related issues for partner groups in the investment decision process, including trade confirmation, projected vs realized cash flows, risk analytics, compliance and regulatory adherence, collateral management, credit exposures, and others.
  • Adhoc data analysis for key projects, sales opportunities, and new client implementations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external clients to as subject matter authorities in Aladdin security, issuer, and credit data.
  • Partner with business analysts and developers in innovation to improve the Aladdin product, build process efficiency and scale, improve data quality, reduce operating risk, and navigate the changing market.

You have
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required, with preference to business fields such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical subject areas such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • A "Student of the Markets" mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
  • Basic knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative instruments.
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast paced, and team oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with agile critical thinking and a problem solving attitude.
  • Base knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, UNIX, or Python is a plus.
