Control System Specialist

Perform system software / hardware upgrades and maintenance to ensure continued service in all areas of operation. Will work alongside local and corporate staff members, consultants, and contractors. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the operation and maintenance of the control system hardware/software, communication networks, and historical database systems.Maintenance and repair of control system equipment includes PLC, server, workstation, plant fiber optic, routers, switches, firewalls, cellular modems, and serial radios.  Program the various SCADA system and control system components including RTU’s  (Remote Terminal Units), PLC’s (Process Logic Controllers), OIT’s, and HMI’s (Human-Machine-Interface) as required.Coordinate and oversee contractors/integrators performance to ensure control systems meet expectations and desired control functions.Programming of VFD, Soft Starters, flow meters, ultrasonic transducers, pressure transducers, and other instrumentation for connection to plant control systems.Review and approve appropriate panel drawings, specifications and documents for control system related projects. As well as update existing drawings as necessary due to internal modifications, etc.  Assist in managing the current Delaware portion of the control system upgrade project.Travel as needed to different operations within New Castle County DelawareSupports the business with operational reporting Available for Emergency coverage outside of normal working hours.  Some night and weekend emergency work is required.Support corporate SCADA initiativesMaintain library of PLC, OIT, VFD, Soft Starter, system prints including regular backupsOther duties as required or assigned
