Sales Associate - Dry Cleaning Drop Store

Job Summary:

As a Sales Counter Help at our dry cleaning store (this is a drop store, not a plant), you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing orders, handling payments, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. You will interact with customers daily, addressing inquiries, providing information about services, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.

Assist customers in dropping off and picking up dry cleaning orders.

Address customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.

Provide information about services, pricing, and promotions.

Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.

Order Processing:

Receive and process dry cleaning orders accurately.

Inspect garments for stains, damages, and special instructions.

Tag garments with appropriate identification information.

Record order details in the computer system.

Inform customers of any delays or issues with their orders.

Payment Handling:

Calculate order totals and collect payments from customers.

Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.

Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping of transactions.

Process refunds or adjustments as necessary.

Store Maintenance:

Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store.

Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify management of any shortages.

Maintain a tidy and welcoming sales counter area.

Assist with basic cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished garments to ensure they meet quality standards.

Notify management of any issues with cleaning or pressing.

Follow proper procedures for handling delicate or specialty items.

Requirements:

Previous customer service experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Basic computer skills for order processing and payment handling.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (e.g., bags of clothing).

Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a dry cleaning or laundry service environment.

Knowledge of garment care instructions and fabric types.

Working Conditions:

This role primarily involves working indoors in a dry cleaning store environment. It may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of moderate weights. Flexible scheduling may be required to accommodate peak business hours, including weekends and holidays.
