Position: SQL Server Developer with Power BI Location: Wilmington, DE (will be onsite once monthly and rest is Remote) Duration: 2 years Rate: Open Interview: Video Schedule: Remote (on site once monthly) Length: Initial 2 years, with very likely extension. Job Profile Summary: Our client is seeking a Senior Data/SQL Server Database Developer with strong skills in PowerBI, SSRS (SQL Server Report Services), and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). The candidate must also have strong SQL developer experience and can quickly come up to speed on a complex data model and immediately contribute to development and support of MS SQL Server business-requested reports, extracts, loads, stored procedures, and interfaces. This individual will be working with one of our government partners. We are seeking an individual who is a quick study and able to gain a deep knowledge of a COTS product's SQL Server data model. The SQL Server data model is an integral component of a leading financially based COTS product used to process income tax. Working in a very dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to participate in the support and enhancements of a SQL Server platform. Leveraging your strong problem-solving and analytical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail, you will work with the client and team members to gather and validate requirements, validate designs, and develop database application solutions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Create and maintain quality reporting deliverables using Microsoft PowerBI Create and maintain quality reporting deliverables using Microsoft SSRS Create new and maintain/tune existing T-SQL queries and procedures Create and maintain existing T-SQL based custom reports Create and maintain interfaces leveraging Microsoft SSIS Analyze existing T-SQL queries for performance improvements Review and interpret ongoing business report and interface requirements Create and maintain stored procedures Analyze existing data structures and queries and develop/update reports, queries, data loads, and interfaces. Accurately develop T-SQL database queries, reports, data loads/extracts in a logical manner from scratch. Qualifications 7 years of experience as a MS Server T-SQL Developer or similar role Strong experience with MS Server Power BI, SSRS, and SSIS BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject A strong MS Server T-SQL developer who can quickly come up to speed on an existing and complex SQL Server database underlying a leading income tax processing COTS product Extensive experience in all aspects of T-SQL programming. 5-7 years of experience with SQL Server PowerBI 3-5 years of experience with creating/maintaining interfaces using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ETL Tool or another ETL product Extensive experience working with large sets of data and resolving data-oriented issues. Extensive experience in tuning queries for optimal performance Able to work independently with minimal direction Ability to work directly with business users to translate business requests/requirements into appropriate designs Possesses excellent communication skills Ability to investigate and identify query performance related issues Possess Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Team player Good time-management skills Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on team's success Preferred Background, Skills, and Competencies: Experience in data warehouse architecture / design / support Required/Preferred Education: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject Physical Demands:- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
