- operations and corporate unit, provide support for entire bank in terms of business processes for operations- lending, portfolio, trust funds, etc- very critical and highly visible systems.
- Rest of the bank is their client- looking for a product owner lead engagement with their internal clients, understand what they do, come back and put things in vision board to write stories, features, work across different teams with solution architects
- looking for resources who can work with Agile teams, understand taking complete ownership of a product from development to execution, strong SDLC knowledge and communication across multiple groups
- this team owns data science, sharepoint, power apps platforms, so someone on the dev not infra side of PO would be preferred
- 2 types of product owners they typically hire for:
- A PO who can run internal systems- understand how to work across internal clients, develop apps for consumers within the bank, answering to dev teams and internal customers on timeline, more homegrown products
- A PO to focus on enterprise apps- well defined external stakeholders, roadmaps, working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Communication skills most important- would want someone to be able to function as a PO with light BA skills, don't need any specific technical kills beyond SDLC familiarity
- Need strong Agile skills and EXTRA strong communication skills, someone who can make presentations, articulate business needs, run a meeting form start to finish
- Where have other candidates fell short- not being able to make presentation on the vision board and articulate business need, Cristina feels she keeps having to rewrite things for people- need really strong written and verbal communication skills
- Don't need anyone to be technical- have a tech background, great, but has a strong team of solutions architects they would be working hand in hand with so don't need tech skills
- Don't care as much about financial background- but need skill set to be adapted to where they work
- CSPO is a huge plus
