Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for an

Application

DevOps Engineer (Azure) to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will be a cloud solution builder who has experience to plan, implement and streamline migration of applications from on-premises to Microsoft Azure cloud environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • US Citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of experience working in Information Technology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • 3 years of experience performing full migration from on-premises to Azure cloud environment
  • Experience with managing services for .NET/Windows, Java/WebSphere, and Red hat/Linux Servers on Azure.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with Technical Stakeholders to design, capture, analyze and derive DevOps requirements.
  • Design Azure solutions and create architecture, configuration, and setup artifacts.
  • Configure deployment automation and ensure functioning of multiple software applications using Azure DevOps cloud stack.
  • Create PowerShell scripts and configure the overall deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Monitor and maintain multiple Cloud DevOps environments.
  • Create REST APIs to consume .NET Technologies and PowerShell.
  • Lead Go-Live activities to deploy software successfully during and after business hours.
  • Establish code review process, policies, and branching structure in Azure Repositories.
  • Integrate security/code quality scans and provide code quality reports using Sonar or related tools.
  • Monitor system performance and configure system alerts using Splunk or related tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical operational issues.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

  • Strong customer service/client facing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient to handle significant responsibility, leadership, and accountability while executing complex assignments.
  • Mentor and guide junior level resources on the team.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certified as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solution Architect or Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Knowledge of Programming languages including C#, .NET, Python, and Java
  • Understanding of design and development for web applications and web services
  • Experience in performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization

Other:
  • Work location: Mclean Office. Temporarily remote due to Covid precautions
  • Limited travel to D.C. area is expected.
