Assistant Project Manager (Construction)

Description:Actalent's client is a well established commercial general contractor based in Washington DC, we are seeking an assistant project manager to join the team as long term direct hire with our client. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for helping the project management team with managing both large and small projects Average: $3-$5million, consisting of Schools, Public Buildings, Fire Stations, Hospitals, and various other commercial projects. Ideally looking for someone with 5+ years in the construction field with, at least 2 years in an APM role. Great opportunity to work with a team of established construction project management professionals and help grow your career into a Project Manager!Additional Skills & Qualifications: Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods, time, costs, Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers Obtain all necessary permits and licenses Schedule projects in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines Explain plans and contract terms to field personnel, administrative staff, and other Superintendents, Laborers, and Carpenters Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve complaints and problems as necessary Have the ability for long term planning of the project Be able to verify all schedules are met and quality control is maintained Assist other co-workers as needed in any additional tasks to help meet the company's overall business objectives Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocationDiversity, Equity & Inclusion At Actalent, diversity and inclusion are a bridge towards the equity and success of our people.
