Summit Technologies, Inc. is looking for an

Azure Network Engineer to join our team supporting a government client. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex environments working with systems including Microsoft Azure, Cisco switches and routers, Cisco ISE and Prime, and others. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and maintain Azure networking resources such as Azure Express route, VNets, Address space allocation, Subnetting, Network security groups, Network gateways, Network Virtual Appliances, and Firewalls.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the status of tasks and projects related to physical, Azure and AWS network infrastructure and operations.
  • Set up and configure remote access solutions such as Cisco AnyConnect and site-to-site VPN.
  • Assist in leveraging the NOC to take on lower-level responsibilities from the network team.
  • Aid other teams with troubleshooting.
  • Compile reports on project and task statuses for the Network Engineering Team.
  • Create documentation and communications to present to management and stakeholders.

Required Experience and skills:
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in IT Operations roles.
  • Proficiency with IPv6 or Azure Cloud.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft Azure Cloud environments.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture and Zscaler.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS commands, switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Sound knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPv4, access-list configuration and OSI 7 Layer Model.
  • Practical experience supporting F5 Big-IP (LTM, GTM, APM & ASM).
  • Strong understanding of encryption algorithms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).

Desired Experience and Skills
  • Experience deploying and managing a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Experience with Cisco Prime/ ISE and Microsoft devices.
  • Familiarity with OSPF, the experience of IP addressing, administrating subnets and various routing models.

Security Clearance
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
