MetaPhase Consulting is currently supporting the Department of State to modernize a critical HR application by leveraging open source technologies following agile. The cloud based application includes middleware microservices, frontend user interfaces, and backend databases/APIs. MetaPhase is seeking a Business Analyst / Software Tester 2 to 4 years of experience to be a part of a Federal IT team supporting the modernization of a key human resources web application. It is expected that the Business Analyst / Tester will have experience in functional analysis, requirements gathering and definition, documentation (e.g. epics, user stories) and testing. The team member should have experience delivering in an Agile development environment and be comfortable collaborating with fellow agile team members, stakeholders, and end-users. The Business Systems Analyst must be customer focused and will also support training and provide end-user support.Basic Qualifications (Required)- Two to four years of experience in a functional role (e.g. requirements analyst, tester) on a web-based application or custom software development project in Agile environment
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly with outstanding analytical skills, structured thinking, ability to connect the dots across similar problem statements and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience testing web applications including frontend testing and backend testing
- Experience in creating Test Cases and Test Suites, executing Test Scripts, and capturing bugs and issues. Experience with automated testing tools a plus.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences.
- U.S. Citizen and Clearable (Active Secret Clearance Required)
- Work closely with product owners, end-users, and other stakeholders via working sessions, interviews, and surveys to discover, document and maintain a set of comprehensive requirements via user stories/epics and roadmaps
- Capture requirements, needs, and features through user stories and define acceptance criteria
- Provide information and input to support prioritization and backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, product demos, and sprint retrospectives
- Contribute to development of test strategy and plans and independently create detailed test cases/scripts that thoroughly test requirements and acceptance criteria
- Independently execute test cases/scripts, captures bugs and issues, and work with development team throughout sprints
- Produce professional, client-ready materials, user guides, training documents, in a fast paced environment for presentation to key project stakeholders.
