We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and patient caregiver to provide support for our 8-year-old son with autism. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism and a passion for making a positive impact on their lives.
Position Details:
Location: Woodbridge
Schedule: 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: December 2024
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one care and supervision in a safe, nurturing environment
Assist with daily routines and activities, including meal prep, hygiene, and dressing
Support social, emotional, and communication development through structured activities and play
Help with behavioral management and provide positive reinforcement strategies
Assist with educational tasks and learning activities tailored to the child’s needs
Foster an inclusive and engaging environment that promotes independence and growth
Communicate regularly with family members to update on progress and challenges
Qualifications:
Experience working with children, especially those with autism or special needs
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Ability to manage behaviors with a calm and positive approach
Experience with or willingness to learn about behavior interventions (e.g., ABA)
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
First aid/CPR certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain)
