A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking to bring on a

Compensation Consultant to be based in

Washington, D.C. Position is currently remote but once offices reopen, individual will be onsite. Position is on a

12 month contract basis. W2 and Local Only

POSITION SUMMARYServes as a resource to the Compensation Team in market pricing jobs as part of an enterprise-wide Career Management Framework Initiative. Assists the Team in the delivery of compensation services, including evaluating jobs, writing job descriptions, performing market assessments, and analyzing and interpreting relevant market data within the internal market pricing tool. Ensures data integrity and completeness in the pricing of jobs.

RESPONSIBILITIES1. Uses established methodology to benchmark jobs against survey data and other market information.2. Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess benchmarking results.3. Assists in implementing job description database. Develops standardized job descriptions; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work.4. Reviews job responsibilities to ensure jobs are accurately leveled and placed into pay structure.5. Assist with developing employee mapping tools and implementing mapping process.6. Provides support to other framework project activities as needed.

DESIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIESCompletion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of directly related professional-level work experience in Compensation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.Knowledge of compensation methodology, principles, practices, and techniques.

Ability to evaluate and analyze data and make substantive recommendations.

Ability to write and edit job descriptions.

Preferred experience in using varied human resources computer software programs, with proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel and Word).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
