Data Architect

Experience:- 16+ Years Program Manager Master Data Expert. This position is responsible for managing the conversion activities from a legacy system (VSAM and SQL) to a new cloud bases solution using SQL. This will entail overseeing the development of a legacy data dictionary and mapping the legacy data to the new solution and developing extracts and procedures to prepare the data for migration.Qualifications & Expertise:• Provides vision and strategy for all data management initiatives as part data strategist and advisor, part steward for data quality, part advocate for data sharing, and part developer of new data products.• Ensures data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of the agency. • Establishes and maintains data policies and standards to improve how the agency collects, uses, secures, and publishes data. • Works with executives, IT developers, and data users to achieve data accuracy and process requirement goals for all internal and external customers.• Through supervision of business intelligence analyst(s): • develops dashboards and reporting capabilities that measure agency performance (via targets and metrics) and support day-to-day monitoring of business processes; • monitors, identifies, and prioritizes operational risk factors; and • recommends data-driven strategies to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. • Participates in business process management activities that create, modify, and retire data. • Represents the agency on citywide data management efforts and vendor relationships.• Establishes data archiving strategies across the agency.• Establishes an internal data council group that provides guidelines and recommendations on business requirements, practices, and compliance to ensure organization business strategy, regulatory compliance, and other requirements are met.• Educates agency members on data management concepts, appropriate usage of data, data quality concepts, agency decision-support concepts, data vendor capabilities, definition and appropriateness of data management, rules on data access, and other data-related matters.• Establishes and maintains optimal coordination, communication, and liaison structure among key system offices, institutions, and external stakeholders.
