As a

Data Protection Officer, this role will provide subject matter expertise in support of IT controls expectations for a personal data privacy program for the company. The role resides in the Information Security and Governance (ISG) group and works closely with the the Data Privacy Office.

The expertise will take the form of defining and assessing technical control standards, procedures, and operations to capture and ensure the company addresses its privacy requirements for personal identifiable information. It will also include providing support in the definition and execution of a related strategy.

The candidate with be required to work with project teams, service providers, auditors, and business units internal and external to the company's IT function.

The candidate is expected to bring pragmatic risk-based personal data privacy work experience allowing for the company to meet its present and emergent business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university plus a minimum of 8 years of progressive data privacy and protection work experience in regulated industries OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus a minimum of 10 years of

    progressive data privacy and protection work experience in regulated industries.
  • Candidate

    must possess globally recognized data privacy professional certifications. This includes certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/EU (Certified Information Privacy Professional) and other IAPP, ISACA issued privacy certifications.
  • Knowledge and work experience with privacy laws, directives (e.g., EU, US federal, and international privacy requirements and other regulations) relating to the protection of sensitive personal information.
  • Experience with conducting data discovery/data mapping, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) in diverse operational environments, as well as experience implementing Privacy-by-Default and Design.
  • Experience collaborating with privacy, legal, security and compliance teams.
  • General knowledge of IT/Cyber security principles such as access management, encryption, multifactor authentication, data loss prevention, e-discovery, etc.
  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office365-Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Visio, and Word.
