GridIron IT is seeking a DevOps Engineer local to the DC Metro area.

Active Top Secret Clearance Required (Ability to obtain TS/SCI required)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The primary duties will be to support the development of a compute cluster project to enable custom code to create server clusters for large scale analysis jobs.
  • Create GitLab Projects to house services.
  • Create GitLab runner with software and privileges to run services.
  • Create EC2 IAM Instance roles that will be associated with the GitLab runner with privileges to execute jobs.
  • Investigate Code/Job needs for logging to provide status (CW, GITLAB ingest) and script inclusion of status items into GITLAB.
  • Create and Maintain DevOps documentation.
  • Once DevOps pipelines are mature, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to other development and activities.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of custom code development/reviews
  • Direct experience with Python scripting
  • Experience with GITLAB functionality, error codes and scripting
  • Familiar with AWS services/technologies (e.g. CloudWatch, IAM, EMR)
  • Experience supporting development testing
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies and workflow
  • Knowledge of SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
  • Team Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
  • Must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI post hire
  • Typically requires a BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • AWS certification (e.g. DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies
