When I came into this business, I knew nothing about insurance – and even less about insurance sales. I had enjoyed a decade in the real estate industry helping families realize their dream of homeownership. But the decline in the housing market showed me that no matter how much I put into my business, factors outside my control impacted my ability to produce a steady income. I knew I didn’t want to go back to the 9am-5pm J-O-B (Just-Over-Broke) and began looking for a career where my efforts would determine my success. That’s when I discovered the insurance industry. I learned that in the US over 10,000 people per day are turning 65, and most of them have no money set aside for their final expenses, and that roughly 91% of people who lose their spouse also end up losing their home within 1 year. There is a tremendous need for compassionate professionals to help families prepare for the unexpected, and the sense of purpose I feel when I’ve helped a family protect their loves ones is immeasurable.
