Job Title: IP NOC Technician

Location: Washington, DC (on-site)

Employment Term: Contract (6 months to start)

Industry: Radio and Broadcasting

Salary: Negotiable – depends on experience

Shift: Sun-Wed, 12pm to 10pm (4 days, 10 hours per day)

Position Summary:The IP NOC Technician is responsible for monitoring, triage, incident management, software deployments, and technical support of the client's Broadcast Operations IP networks and IP Streaming systems in a 7x24x365 multi-shift environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monitoring and incident management to include detection, impact assessment, isolation, remediation, and resolution of all Broadcast IP network issues and IP Streaming systems and services.
  • Responsible for monitoring, triage, and incident management of 3rd party vendor services including carrier circuits, to include support for incoming calls, troubleshooting, coordination with vendors, incident tracking, and tracking of maintenance activity.
  • Supports incoming trouble reports via phone, open trouble tickets, and respond to questions about availability and operational status of services
  • Responsible for software deployments to production and staging environments.
  • Responsible for routine configuration changes to network devices and infrastructure.
  • Provide first level troubleshooting and remediation as prescribed in the policies and procedures related to:
    • Streaming Service/Feature status and availability
    • Circuit, Networking, and IP issues
    • Operations and availability of hardware infrastructure
    • Operations and availability of applications
    • Software deployments

Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree, Technical School or military training in computer systems management and monitoring or related area or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a 24x7x365 multi-shift environment where the main focus is monitoring and incident management.
  • Practical hands-on experience with trouble ticket systems, network monitoring tools, and familiarity with incident management processes.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, switching, IP routing, fault isolation and network operations.
  • Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) level certification or above, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, ELB, Cloudwatch)
  • Web development skills to include knowledge of API’s, software deployment, version control.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and or experience managing Windows servers and server OS
  • Demonstrated knowledge and or experience managing Linux servers and server OS
  • Candidates must be able to distinguish between red, green and yellow colors in order to interpret alarm priorities and be able to distinguish issues with audio streams
