PURPOSE:

The Lead Product Owners provide strategic direction to other Product Owners and product teams to ensure that products meet the needs of our customers. Works with customer stakeholders to understand strategic priorities across the business; develops action plans to realize prioritized benefits; using their influence to ensure business objectives are met. Establishing the business value for their development and implementation that serves as the underpinning for development and delivery. The Lead PO brings an expertise to lead and manage project requirements and introduces new, beneficial tools and practices to help oversee all stages of product creation including design and development – including a proficiency with Agile methodology. Understands the important role data plays in product development. Provides business point of view and guidance on opportunities and risks to support clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Leads the development of the product portfolio and provides workable solutions to satisfy customer and market expectations in close collaboration with stakeholders, Product Owners, and scrum teams.
  • Collaborates with management to identify and plan product releases by reviewing milestones with stakeholders; manages the continual development of existing products.
  • Lead, guide, and/or perform analysis, research, and documentation related to product requirements and analysis
  • Validates proposed solutions with architectural and delivery teams, as well as with the customer as input to product definitions, requirements in JIRA, and functional documentation.
  • Communicates internally and externally, develops and maintains Product Roadmap(s).
  • Manages Product Backlog(s) for the development teams by using product road mapping and backlog management tools.
  • Works closely with BAs and other product owners to ensure product functionality is properly tested against business requirements;
  • Aides in the development process by attending product refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
  • Coordinates and organizes workshops with product users using the discover and define approach; validates hypotheses and implements best solutions.
  • Contributes to wider initiatives and activities that support and increase customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 8 years experience business analysis, business development, solutions development, system analysis, technical design/development implantation or equivalent experience OR 6 years Previous product owner experience with an in-depth knowledge of agile process and principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Understanding of healthcare enrollment and member management processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and business analysis experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies, principles, and procedures.
  • Ability to use Product KPIs and business metrics to optimize the product.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner PO certification Upon Hire Required.
