Overview
Our client has a multi-year contract opportunity for a Mainframe Network Engineer to work REMOTE with a Federal Agency based in Washington, DC. This project administers comprehensive retirement benefits for nation's railroad workers and their families. As a Mainframe Network Engineer, you will work with the platform architecture team to define the network architecture supporting the IBM Federal zCloud offering in support of Mainframe (z/OS) zCloud clients. Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Holders, and be able to meet the client's background requirements. Qualifications- 10+ years of experience with z/OS Systems Programming and Network expertise in a multi LPAR Sysplex environment
- 7 years of experience with network troubleshooting and tier 3 support
- 5 years of experience with Wide Area and Local Area Network Design and Implementation
- 3 years of experience with the following:
- Supporting storage capacity planning and performance
- Configuring VLANs, multi-tenant isolation for mainframe networking
- Software Defined Network topologies and implementation
- Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Holders, and be able to meet the client's background requirements
- CCNP or higher VMware NSX-V and NSX-T experience
- Familiarity with Cisco and Arista routing and switching platforms
- Familiarity with Next Generation Firewall Technologies such as Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet
