Our client has a

multi-year contract opportunity for a

Mainframe Storage Engineer to work

REMOTE with a Federal Agency based in Washington, DC. This project administers comprehensive retirement benefits for nation's railroad workers and their families. As a Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting technology assessments, design, infrastructure build, configuration, test and documentation of all aspects of new deployments and technical refresh of existing environments. This role may require off-hours support.

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be

U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders, and be able to meet the client's background requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience supporting design and implementation of mainframe DASD and VTL infrastructure, including DS8000 Copy Services and tape grid
  • 3 years of experience supporting storage capacity planning and performance
  • Ability to create formal documentation for delivery to operations, and maintenance staff
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be

    U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders, and be able to meet the client's background requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with distributed storage area networks
  • 2 years of experience with IT security solutions, firewalls and Mainframe security tools (zSecure, Top Secret, RACF, ACF2)
  • Experience working with Federal government clients
