Maryland Security Guard & Firearms Training

Are you looking for a new career in the security profession. First Protect Training Academy have security training classes that will give you all the tools to become security profession.

Effective June 1, 2024, Security Guard applicants are required to complete a minimum of twelve (12) hours basic training for Security Guards. The Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission has approved 17 mandated objectives to be taught in these courses. Security Guard renewals that are completed after June 1, 2024 must be accompanied by proof of eight (8) hours of In-service training. All training content must be approved by the Certification Unit of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions prior to being conducted.
