DBH is looking for a resource to create and maintain data sets pulled from its SQL Server data warehouse and configure them dashboard development.This is a long term position working in the Reports Development team in Washington DC at the Department of Behavioral Health. Resource will work with Reports Development team and programmatic end users to document requirements for Microstrategy dashboards. Resource will create the data sets that drive the dashboards and configure them in Microstrategy. Resource will monitor and maintain data refreshes for existing dashboards and make updates to existing dashboards as requested by end users. Qualifications• Certification in MicroStrategy, experience using Microstrategy Developer and Dossiers.• Strong experience in writing SQL and good working knowledge of SQL Server databases. • Ability to perform data analysis, troubleshoot data issues in comparison to report output.• Experience on creating highly optimized Intelligent Cubes and Incremental Refreshes • Bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems, computer science, or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience• Skills in comprehending, analyzing data and its relationships• Good knowledge of Data Warehousing principles, ETL processes and dimensional modeling concepts• Excellent technical, logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to provide insight on development and application support• Effective verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences• Must have the legal right to work in the United States Responsibilities• The position is responsible for creating and maintaining the data sets in support of DBH’s MicroStrategy Business Intelligence platform• The individual will be required to participate in all SDLC phases and responsible for data modeling and MicroStrategy project metadata development• The individual should possess skills around relationships of data, hierarchies, and hybrid data models• The position requires production support, platform maintenance support and system enhancements support.• The Individual is expected to have a thorough understanding of the business logic and data contained within every BI project while working on it• Participate in requirements gathering and documentation with other teams to define dashboards and reporting solutions to meet diverse, complex agency needs• Experience working with Complex reports, Report Services Documents (Write-Back), Dossier (dashboards), Metrics, Filters, built-in and user defined functions like If, case, running sum, etc.• Ability to write custom SQL like self-join, nested queries to troubleshoot complex data issues Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experienceSkillsMicrostrategy certification 5+ yrs SQL Server development experience -CONTRACT JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities:1. Defines, designs, and builds dimensional databases.6. Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems.7. Reviews and develops object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
