M9 Solutions is seeking a

Network Engineer to workon a government contract for a client located in

Washington, DC. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Work with low-speed TDM equipment (for example Promina, Timeplex) to provide engineering and installation support for projects that involve transitioning government facilities to IP-based transport.
  • Assist in architecting and engineering highly available IP-based solutions to replace existing legacy services.
  • Installing and configuring IP-based equipment for transporting T1, serial, and analog circuits.
  • Helping to create and executing test plans for validation testing of new installations.
  • Developing transition plans and performing circuit cutovers.
  • Documenting designs and installations.
  • Providing required project management support.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred) and 2+ years' experience or 3+ years of experience supporting Tech Control Facilities.
  • Knowledge of legacy transport solutions (e.g. NET Promina, TimePlex Link-II) highly desirable
  • Experience in IP is required, JNCIA or CCNA is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience in network engineering tasks, including configuring routers and/or switches and understanding the associated protocols (e.g. PNNI, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS).
  • Knowledge of legacy and DoD-specific technologies (such as ATM, and type-1 encryption) is preferred.
  • Must be prompt and be able to take direction and work in a fast-paced environment.
