M9 Solutions is seeking a
Network Engineer to workon a government contract for a client located in Washington, DC. An active Secret Clearance is required. Responsibilities- Work with low-speed TDM equipment (for example Promina, Timeplex) to provide engineering and installation support for projects that involve transitioning government facilities to IP-based transport.
- Assist in architecting and engineering highly available IP-based solutions to replace existing legacy services.
- Installing and configuring IP-based equipment for transporting T1, serial, and analog circuits.
- Helping to create and executing test plans for validation testing of new installations.
- Developing transition plans and performing circuit cutovers.
- Documenting designs and installations.
- Providing required project management support.
- An active Secret clearance is required.
- Willing to travel up to 20% is required.
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred) and 2+ years' experience or 3+ years of experience supporting Tech Control Facilities.
- Knowledge of legacy transport solutions (e.g. NET Promina, TimePlex Link-II) highly desirable
- Experience in IP is required, JNCIA or CCNA is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in network engineering tasks, including configuring routers and/or switches and understanding the associated protocols (e.g. PNNI, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS).
- Knowledge of legacy and DoD-specific technologies (such as ATM, and type-1 encryption) is preferred.
- Must be prompt and be able to take direction and work in a fast-paced environment.
