PRINCIPAL DEPLOYMENT ENGINEER/ARCHITECT ALTA IT Services has a contract opening for a Principal Deployment Engineer/Architect to support a leading, Washington, DC – based health insurance customer. Work remains COVID remote.

TECHNICAL STACK: Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS); Jenkins, BitBucket, Artifactory, SonarQube, Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google), DevSecOps, Ansible, Puppet or Chef, AIX and Linux, LDAP, EIAM (Identity Access Management), DataPower ESB, Pega or Rules Engine, Network
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in the role of a Principal Deployment Engineer/Architect
  • Designing and building scalable solutions integrating technologies in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Extensive experience in the design and development of deployment frameworks that comprise multiple technologies supporting goals of continuous integration and deployment to hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments.
  • Extensive experience in the development of integration with source repositories, code quality tools, development of pipelines especially using pipeline as code implementations.
  • Experienced architecting and automating cloud technologies, deploying apps, and provisioning infrastructure
  • Scripting and process Automation experience required
  • Experience in using container technologies
  • Experience integrating and supporting a variety of cloud tools and technologies such as Terraform, Configuration Manager, and others.
  • Extensive knowledge of Java/J2EE methodology and frameworks
  • Extensive UNIX AIX or Linux and Scripting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of WebSphere MQ
  • Extensive SDLC experience with some development or Systems programming experience, preferred using Agile practices
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in programming language, such as Python, Go, Swift, Java, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
  • Experience with cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, including Jenkins, Bamboo, ArgoCD, and/or GitLab
  • Nice to have hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture such as Kubernetes, containers, serverless (lambda) etc.
  • Ability to articulate implementations and experience around DevSecOps and have knowledge of tools and products in this space
  • Very strong verbal, written, and presentation skills and (Critical)
  • Ability to facilitate technical requirements gathering and design sessions
  • Collaborate and interpret business and technical needs
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality work products (Critical)
