Job Duties: Responsible for software and web site testing efforts by analyzing business requirements, preparing and writing test cases, and executing tests. A key responsibility will be working with programmers, business users, and graphics department to validate web site design, functionality, and user interface. Depending on the nature of the project the Principal Quality Assurance Analyst may also undertake a combination of project management, technical writing, note-taking, and testing tasks as well as other duties assigned by the Service Owner. Contributes to the improvement of business processes within the technology and business organizations. Engages in general user acceptance testing, defect management, and may contribute to, or author, more advanced testing artifacts. Work with the project test leads to assure appropriate testing is being planned, executed, and documented. Works closely with the development team to assist in tracking bugs throughout the project life-cycle, communicating them to the appropriate parties for fixes, and provide feedback for bugs not resolved. Continually improves quality assurance processes to ensure a high level of software quality. Work with the project manager to assure all support, PMO, and audit artifacts meet Amtrak standards. Interface with the Release Management (RM) team to assure that the Life Cycle process and timing meet the RM strategy and calendar. Assure that the test environments and Dev/Ops practices are followed to support valid testing. Ability to validate functional specifications as written for the product and enter discrepancies between the specifications and the application.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field followed by seven years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or seven years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Developing and managing contracts, budgets, and schedules; and 2) Microsoft Office suite, project management programs, and charting/flowcharting/diagramming software (ie Microsoft Project/Visio).

Four years of experience: 1) reviewing project artifacts (e.g. requirements, testing plans, etc.), insuring the artifacts and testing results are recorded and meet Amtrak Quality Assurance processes. 2) Experience working with the project team to assist and ensure the Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines are followed throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Three years of experience and knowledge of the following tools: 1) HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) /Quality Center; 2) SOAPUI, UFT, SOA Test, Postman, JSON Viewer, and T-Pump; 3) Agile methodologies; 4) JIRA; 5) Confluence; 6) Structured Query Language (SQL); 7) AWS DynamoDB; 8) Web and Mobile Testing tools; 9) Salesforce Classic and Lightning; 10) Airline Control System (ALCS); 11) S/390 Assembler, zTPF, TPFDF, and zTPF C/C; and 12) EDIFACT, Teletype Messaging (TTY), and MQ Series.
