What You'll Get to Do

The Aviation/Ship Integration (A/SI) Analyst supports the NAVAIR Aviation/Ship Integration (ASI) Manager, within the PMS 525 Technical Directorate, to align Aviation/Ship Integration tasks and deliverables for the Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) ships. Tasking includes risk identification/mitigation, system configuration changes, and actions pertaining to program's cost, schedule, performance.

Remote working with up to 25% travel within the continental US.

More About the Role
  • Analyzes A/SI program (i.e., costs, schedule, and system performance), engineering, logistics, aviation certification testing, weapons handling, aviation system sustainment or supply management systems
  • Works autonomously to make management and leadership decisions within prescribed decision-making boundaries
  • Assists A/SI Manager in providing products (e.g., technical briefs and documents) and services related to A/SI efforts
  • Engages NAVAIR technical and program community to integrate baseline and new hardware and software systems for existing and future new construction FMS ships
  • Creates and analyzes MS project plan of action and milestones, regular presentations & technical briefs
  • Able to act as a representative of A/SI topics and discussions when A/SI Manager is absent

You'll Bring These Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree or, Aviation experience onboard US Navy Cruisers and/or Destroyers. in lieu of a degree
  • 10 years of experience supporting a DoD acquisition program office with engineering, logistics management, or aviation testing, aviation system sustainment
  • Experience with managing programs providing products and services for DoD, Navy or Marine Corps, or Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
  • Ability to create quality MS project plan of action and milestones (POAM), power point presentations & technical briefs
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for periods up to three weeks or 25% of the time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point.
  • Proficiency with project administration. Responsible for various administrative duties surrounding a project including documentation, meeting management, and using time management skills to help the team stay on track.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge and experience in Gov't and contractor relationships and protocols
  • Experience with interpretation of contracts, specifications, and regulations

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
  • Senior Aircraft Aircrewman, including E-7 through E-9 or Naval Aviator
  • Prior military experience in A/SI testing efforts and manpower training of foreign nationals
  • Experience with helicopter and/or aircraft support equipment maintenance
  • Prior experience in program management for the integration of aviation related hardware and software systems or similar systems for new combatant new construction ships
  • Experience with naval aviation with FMS experience preferred
  • Experience with aircraft capable ships, including aircraft carriers, DDG, LHD, LHA, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), frigate, or USCG
  • Experience in integrating new hardware and software systems for new construction ships
  • Experience in testing new hardware and software systems in a relevant laboratory and shipboard environment
  • Knowledge of Navy systems and processes preferred
  • Knowledge of aviation/shipboard testing to validate and ensure that customer's requirements are met
  • Experience building consensus between USN System Commands, other Services and Vendors

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $44,900-$89,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
