Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for a

Project Analyst to join our team. This is a

hybrid position which will require some remote and some on-site work in

Washington DC. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs. Candidate will support a dynamic and fast growing 508 Program Center of Excellence. The 508 Program supports the increasing demands for 508 awareness, compliance and remediation support as it relates to IT systems and electronic documents. The 508 Program team serves as the central resource providing consulting, education and remediation to ensure the Department adheres to 508 laws as well as produces and maintains 508 compliant products.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyst will collaborate with our team of 508 experts and receive on-going on-the-job training to build skills and expertise in 508 laws, compliance and the technical expertise in remediation approaches for digital products.
  • Analyst will learn to use manual and automated accessibility testing approaches to remediate electronic products. As 508 proficiency grows, the project analyst will consult with end-user stakeholders to review, test, and validate electronic documents and IT systems for 508 compliances as well as support training and outreach activities.
  • Verify end-users' conformance with accessibility standards and compliance with Section 508
  • Perform document accessibility assessments, and remediation of inaccessible content.
  • Provide broad-based accessibility testing and 508 technical assistances to clients.
  • Deliver high-quality accessibility test results, awareness, information, and services
  • Coach development teams on accessibility testing skills for web and electronic content and applications
  • Communicate both accessibility assessment results, and solutions to end-users as required
  • Report and track support requests accurately and consistently into tracking system and provide regular status updates to the end-users, the Program Manager and team member points-of-contact.
  • Evaluate Program processes and tools to continuously improve team productivity and user experience
  • Assist with contributing and managing the 508 Program "Best Practices" Library (Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Instructional Videos, Checklists, etc.) to build and improve the Department's self-help resources
  • Support the Department's Change Control Board (CCB) to provide 508 compliance perspective to assess and evaluate Hardware and Software products.
  • Manage, track, and respond to inquiries (tickets)
  • Manage the entire business process with attention to detail,
  • Track metrics and improve processes based on the information,
  • Follow-up on inquiries to ensure the approval process is moving forward
  • Detail oriented with a solid work ethic and aptitude to learn

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office desktop tools with high degree of proficiency in Word
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, positive attitude with desired to rapidly learn and apply the unique 508 skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple efforts supporting multiple organizations
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Active secret clearance required
  • Associate Degree (or equivalent) required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with 508 Laws and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA standards
  • Familiarity with Acrobat Pro, SharePoint
  • Familiarity using automated accessibility testing tools like Andi and JAWS
  • Understanding of 508 requirements for applications and how to apply principles of accessibility to creating Section 508 compliant products
