  • The Data Governance Project Manager will facilitate and manage organization-wide data governance activities. This role will focus on managing the establishment and facilitating adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs.
  • The Data Governance Project Manager serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, data security, and use of information and reporting issues. The role will work closely with multifaceted stakeholder groups, that include Business and Functional area leadership, to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements, and support the strategic requirements of the organization overall.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage the Data Governance Council (DGC) convenings and activities including the following -
    • Work with the Dmembers to roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework and implementation roadmap, with a focus on improvement of data quality, protection of sensitive data, and improved use of information for the purposes of organizational reporting and evaluation.
    • In collaboration with Dmembers, facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
    • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
    • Work with Dmembers to define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • In conjunction with other DIGITAL teams, work on implementation solutions, including training opportunities, and provide progress reports and periodic updates on the implementation of new policies and procedures to the DGC.
  • Manage the Data Security & Access Protocol (DSAP) process for vendor data requests
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
  • Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
  • Work experience in a nonprofit, clinical research, healthcare, or public health setting preferred.
