Tennis Roofing and Asphalt, Inc., d/b/a Tennis Roofing, seeks Roof Helpers, five (5) openings, Temporary full-time positions from 04/01/2024to 12/31/2024in Washington, PA and surrounding areas.Job Duties:

Check to ensure that completed roofs are watertight.

Sweep, clean, and/or remove old roofs to prepare them for the application of new roofing materials for all roof types.

Locate worn or torn areas in roofs.

Clean work areas and equipment.

Maintain tools and equipment.

Cover roofs with layers of roofing felt before installing tile, slate, or composition materials.

Remove old roofing materials.

Unload materials and tools from work trucks, and unroll roofing as directed.

Set ladders, scaffolds, and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs.

Place tiles, nail them to roof boards, and cover nail heads with roofing cement.

Provide assistance to skilled roofers installing and repairing roofs or all roof types, flashings, and surfaces.

Attach roofing paper and composition shingles.

Perform emergency leak repairs and general maintenance for a variety of roof types.

Attach sheets of metal to roof boards or building frameworks when installing metal roofs.

Hoist roofing materials to roofs, using ropes and pulleys, or carry materials up ladders.

Apply shingles, gravel, or asphalt over the top layer of tar to protect the roofing material.

Clear drains and downspouts and clean gutters.

Clean and organize work trucks.

Clean and organize tools, equipment, and materials in the warehouse.

Requirements:

Must be comfortable with heights.

Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment.

Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time in the Pittsburgh tri-state metropolitan area and surrounding areas.

Employer will guarantee minimum H-2B wage rate of $21.49per hour worked. The H-2B wage will consist of Pittsburgh, PA prevailing wage.Overtime hours may be available at a rate of $32.24 per hour.Generally: minimumof 40 hours per week, on average 8hours per workday and 5 workdays per week. Weekends and holidays required. Various shifts available but normally 9am to 5pm. Employer will pay biweekly.Conditions of employment for H2B and U.S. workers:

Initial transportation to begin the seasonal/peak employment (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be at least a minimum of $15.46per day during travel to a maximum of$59.00per day (with documentation of actual expenses).

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 35 hours per week forthe total employment period.

The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

The employer will provide any on-the-job training necessary for the position.

The employer will use a twowork-weeks for computing wages andemployees will be paid biweekly.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed during the first workweek for subsistence, visa, visa processing and related costs, except passport costs, by company check.

Eligible for healthinsurance on the first of the month following 30 days of employment;

Limited daily transportation offered from arranged lodging.
