- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Thorough code review of current and past development efforts
- Code optimization and performance tuning
- Security assessment and compliance
- Conduct research on emerging database and data warehouse technologies
- Interact with all stake holders not limiting to the IT to ensure accurate and comprehensive understanding of business requirements
- Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems and provide issue escalation in a timely fashion

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working with databases, SQL Server.
- 5+ Strong database administration experience on MS-SQL Server
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Maintain backup and recovery process, including disaster recovery performance and tuning of database and application
- Through understanding of indexing (Clustered/Non-Clustered)
- Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems.
- Experience with enterprise features of SQL Server: Always on Availability Groups, clustering, Disaster Recovery.
- Understanding of SSRS, PowerBI, IBM Cognos or other Reporting platforms.
- Provide sustainment of customer database systems to include installation, patching, upgrades, database schema administration, exports/imports, backup administration.
- Understanding of database security and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

- Understanding and knowledge of Data Warehousing (Inmon & Kimball) and Business Intelligence.
- Working technical knowledge in Relational and Dimensional Database design.
- Understanding of Data Modeling (both physical and logical).
- Understanding of new Developer/DBA features for SQL Server 2012 and experience with using it even in the capacity of development or R&D.
- Understanding of SSRS, SSAS, IBM Cognos or other Reporting platforms.
- Experience in Healthcare IT or Support environment a plus.
- Experience in Azure Data warehousing
