Senior DevOps Engineer

ALTA IT Services is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to support our direct client on a long-term contract. Candidates should have advanced scripting skills, and basic Kubernetes knowledge. DevOps Engineer12+ month contractWashington, DC area Requirements:- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to think outside the box- Ability to learn new patterns and practices with rapid prototyping- Experience with high-level design and low-level hands-on implementation- Experience with maintaining and supporting systems with large numbers of users- Ability to work with internal developer community and guide teams on platforms and technologies- Ability to work with architects to design and evolve systems- Good understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps- Proficiency in navigating Linux operating systems with basic administrative knowledge- Good understanding of networking concepts (Host Layers 4-7), encryption, TLS, etc.- Good understanding of REST APIs and experience with creating or consuming APIs- Excellent shell scripting skills- Experience with Java and ability to write and debug code- Good understanding of container fundamentals and Linux kernel concepts- Experience with container runtimes and Kubernetes- Good understanding of cloud native patterns- Good understanding of cloud native security- Good experience with Git- Experience with DevOps in the cloud- Experience with container-based and VM-based deployments in the cloud- Experience with Spring framework (nice to have)- Experience with Helm (nice to have)- Experience with Go (nice to have) Education:- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields.
