OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Network Security Engineer to help champion our information security posture across CoStar's networking stack. You will engage with all departments of The CoStar Group helping drive and shape the way we manage the protection of our customers and our ever-growing data environment. We're looking for someone who can communicate and reinforce security concepts to technical and non-technical.

The ideal candidate will have experience engineering and operating secure networks - both in the cloud and 1st party data centers - for both office WAN and product networking environments. The successful candidate will be intrinsically motivated to learn new technologies and tools to move security forward as it is implemented within the CoStar Enterprise.

This position has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to two days remote per week. Four-day work weeks are also an option for those applicants that are interested.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform network security assessments to include threat modeling, pen testing, and configuration analysis
  • Audit existing design and infrastructure configurations and recommend changes to improve security posture
  • Evaluate firewall change requests - both on-premise and in the cloud
  • Design, enforce, and audit configurations and policies across the network to include firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, DNS, Wi-Fi controllers, VPNs, and SD-WAN
  • Tune and sustain Intrusion Prevent Systems (IPS)
  • Participate in threat intelligence and detection engineer to improve anomalous or known malicious network related events
  • Follow, develop, and improve network and security configuration policies, standards, and procedures
  • Design and audit controls for large scale Kubernetes and AWS cloud networking environments
  • Work to disable insecure and outdated network protocols and cipher suites and create/enforce an enterprise wide standard for TLS

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years total experience in engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in Security specific roles
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Terraform, Perl, Python, PowerShell)
  • Expert knowledge of subnetting and segregation of networks
  • Experience with AWS networking - including NACL's, security groups, NLB's/ALB's, transit gateway, and AWS Network Firewall
  • Experience with network security tooling (NMAP, Snort, Aircrack, Nipper, etc)
