Senior Project ManagerLocation: Washington, DCDuration: 6 Months with possible contract to hire

Description:Project manager will be responsible for the roll-out, expansion, upgrade, and company-wide adoption of Collaboration Tools such as Office 365, Teams, and Sharepoint Online. Collaborates and manages multiple project teams comprised of internal, customer, and vendor resources. Interacts closely with the multiple Infrastructure teams and vendors to define the project parameters and to develop detailed project documentation to outline the project to include Business Requirements, Project Plans, and Project Schedule. Translates customer requirements and strategy into specific achievable plans and tasks. Manages assigned project resources, constraints, risks and issues using project management best practices and internal delivery methodology. Assures proper conduct, documentation, and communications of assigned project engagements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Manages all aspects of large and complex projects throughout the project lifecycle including project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs and change.- Translates project requirements into project objectives and tasks, managing task assignment to project resources and reporting on and managing project scope throughout the lifecycle.- Develops detail project schedules, resource plans, status reports and contributes to the effectiveness of a team that integrates multiple functions/disciplines.- Conducts project meetings, sets and manages client expectations by making risks visible, escalating issues and changes when appropriate.- Interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including end user, services organizations, vendors and implementations partners.- Review project deliverables for accuracy and apprises management of issues effecting project status and offers solution to solve the issues.- Ensure satisfactory transfer of custody and control of product upon completion (handoff) and close all project documentation and archive appropriate records.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities- Leads project team utilizing specific expectations, deliverables and overall project control.- Assists supporting standards, processes and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team.- Confidently makes presentations to different audiences to include executives and management teams.- Assess the impact of new requirements, resourcing, issues and risks on an assigned set of complex projects.- Act as liaison between all functional groups.- Develop lessons learned documentation.- Report Project Status via company defined methods.

Position Requirements

Functional/Technical Skills- Expert understanding of Project and Program Management principles- Expert understanding of project lifecycles.- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate.- Solid understanding of project management methodologies.- Technical and Business writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables.- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex concepts and decompose them into smaller understandable bodies of work.

Experience- 8 to 10 years of experience in project management, with proven history of successful project management/program management within Information Technology.- Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering large complex projects, including project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs and change.- Experience with the roll-out and adoption of Microsoft Collaboration Tools such as Office 365, Teams, and Sharepoint Online.- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.- Able to manage projects of large to complex projects independently.- Well-developed leadership skills in a matrix organization structure.
