Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer (Linux/VMWare/Backup Administrator) to join our team in Washington, D.C. to support our government clients. The Senior Systems Engineer is a multifaceted role that collaborates with other teams across the business. This role will be responsible for supporting the Data Analytics Research Cell (DARC) and provides subject matter expertise in the areas of user activity monitoring, system activity auditing, digital forensics, reverse engineering, technology innovation and integration supporting Linux, VMware, Cisco appliances, and the backup solution. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skillsets, work with a motivated and entrepreneurial team, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and build CGS capabilities. As a Senior Systems Engineer you will:

  • Set up, configure, and maintain Linux appliances.
  • Manage, maintain, and test all backups for this boundary.
  • Script with automating processes and deployments using tools such as scripting (bash, python, Perl, etc.) and packaging (rpm, iso, etc.)
  • Hold responsibility for all hardware, operating systems, and administrative tasks for this information system.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with current or previous SCI eligibility
  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree from an accredited university in a field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in VMWare administration with a strong understanding of Linux.
  • Current active IAT level II certification.
  • Current industry specific certification in LINUX, VMWare, Cisco, or storage certification.
  • Proficient with VMWare in setting up, configuring, upgrading, and patching.
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), NIST, DISA STIGs, and vendor specific recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, VDI technologies such as VMware View.
  • Experience in virtual infrastructure, fiber channel, SAN management and Backups.
