Software Pn Engineer (Hybrid)

Resp & QualificationsPURPOSE:Implements the engineering best practices required to produce and deploy high quality products. Ensures engineering alignment with functional and technical requirements. Handles the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of products as assigned, ensuring that they are consistent with the company's architectural roadmap, product development strategy, and quality standards. Develops project plans with estimates and ensures development stays organized and adheres to the plan. Leads stakeholder and product owner meetings to define software requirements and creates highly complex systems. Acts as a mentor to junior engineers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Lead the strategic direction of the design, development, and implementation of multiple applications. Performs and leads the detail technical design, debugging, coding, code review and testing of new applications as well as enhancements of existing applications. Compile, assess, and report data results from software testing and analysis. Experience building cloud ready applications. Design and implement software application from both a code point of view and a deployment point of view. Demonstrated experience with front-end and back-end programing and integration frameworks and tools. Estimate the effort required to develop, test and deploy software applications

Learn and fully understand business domains and functions. Participates in collaborative meetings with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate both short and long term activities between business areas. Ensures that product engineering remains consistent with the company’s architectural roadmap and product development strategy while improving the performance of existing software. Articulate the trade-offs, benefits and risks of proposed architecture and design solutions

Researches, analyzes, and implements best-practice engineering methodologies and processes for products. Provides technical guidance to development teams and oversee the technical aspects of the project. Provide necessary guidance to the teams related to quality engineering (Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, Test automation, performance testing, building quality in from the beginning, and test data management). Develop and implement application on proposed architecture, overseeing issues such as migration. Extend open-source libraries and systems as necessary to meet the needs of the team. Play a crucial role in product scoping and roadmap / architecture discussions. Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best.

Mentors more junior and senior engineers in-person or via code reviews and assists in problem solving. Provide mentorship, administrative oversight, evaluations, and personal development of junior staff. Assist the application/solution architect in the architectural vision and design process. .Assist and triage production issues and propose fixes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.QUALIFICATIONS:Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Information Technology or Computer Science OR In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.Experience: 10 years Experience in the software development life cycle (SDLC) and ensures adherence to quality and delivery management systemsRequired

The position will require working with broad cutting edge technologies, including, but not limited to DataPower, API Management Platform (APIM), Automation Suites for testing API, Venafi Systems, CyberArk, Python, Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Security, REST Services, Micro Services, Role Based Access Control (RBAC) security model, Identity and Access Management, Single Sign On (SSO), Kubernetes and containerization technologies, IBM API Connect, Internet technologies for web browsers, and the other integration technology.

The Candidate must play the role of subject matter expert in the field of Web Services, microservices and REST API.

Work with solution architects to provide API architecture solution

Define API standard and governance

Review the API specification for conformance of the enterprise standards and API governance framework

Review the documentation and make recommendation for change

Design and develop framework (reusable routines) using REST API Specifications and shell scripts to manage lifecycle of API’s

Work with CI/CD team to create necessary custom Jenkins pipelines

Design, develop and implement custom API flows and Publish API’s to APIM

Troubleshoot issues seen in DataPower and APIM

Generate reports from APIM Analytics

Experience with OAuth and JWT (with OpenID Connect)

Participate in customer onboarding activities on to API Gateway platform and participate in triage activities on a need basis

Support production release activities

Experience managing/deploying APIs on Cloud and On-premise API Gateway solutions

Manage the runtime platform on containers and Kubernetes

Be able to configure cloud native API gateways and ingress controllers

Experience with cloud API gateways

Experience with AWS & AWS API gateways
